JPEG works well for photographs with many colours. Lowering quality reduces detail as well as file size; compare the preview before downloading.
With no size limit or resize settings, this tool keeps the original JPEG if re-encoding would make it larger. With a KB limit, it searches quality levels first, then reduces dimensions only when necessary.

Are my images uploaded?+
No. Image processing happens on your device using your browser. Closing the tab releases the working image. Downloads remain wherever your browser saves them.
Will this meet every upload requirement?+
It can adjust pixels, format and file size. A portal can also check background, face position, document validity, minimum size or require live capture. Read those requirements separately.
Why did the image get smaller in pixels?+
A very small KB limit may need smaller dimensions after quality compression. Enter exact dimensions to keep them fixed; if the size limit is impossible, you will see an error instead of a misleading success.
